Fire detection systems

How Do Conventional Fire Detection Systems Work?

Conventional fire detection systems instantly detect a potential fire in a specific area. Businesses tend to prefer these systems when they are small or medium-sized. Conventional systems operate on a zone-based detection method. Detectors and buttons are connected on a single line. They design each floor of the building as a zone, allowing them to monitor only the fires occurring on the respective floor to which they are connected.

Conventional fire alarm systems, which operate with areas called zones, detect fire through the signals from detectors connected to these zones and provide alerts accordingly. The connection diagram of a conventional fire detection system is also of great importance. Regardless of the type of system, a connection diagram is prepared for each system, and the installation is carried out according to this diagram. The prepared connection diagram ensures that the system is implemented easily and without errors. In conventional fire detection systems, the detection panel consists of regions to which the devices are connected. In this system, they can connect up to 20 detectors to each region. Additionally, the panel has inputs and outputs for connecting sirens and fire alarm buttons. In the event of an incident, an alert signal is received from that zone when the fire button is pressed or when one of the detectors detects a fire.

Conventional Fire Detection Systems Areas of Use:

  • Small and Medium Buildings:
Small businesses, offices, shops and restaurants offer a cost-effective solution based on building size.
  • Schools and Educational Institutions:
It is widely used in schools and other educational institutions to ensure fire safety.
  • Houses and Apartments:
Prefers to improve fire safety in individual dwellings and apartment buildings.
  • Warehouses and Small Industrial Plants:
It is used for early fire detection in warehouses and small-scale industrial plants where the risk of fire is high.
  • Hospitals and Health Institutions:
It plays an important role in hospitals and other healthcare institutions where fire safety is critical.
  • Hotels and Accommodation Facilities:
It is used to ensure fire safety in accommodation facilities and to increase the safety of guests.
  • Shopping Centers and Stores:
Small shopping centers and stores where there is a risk of fire also benefit from these systems.
  • Warehouses and Logistics Centers:
It prefers these systems to detect fire early and ensure fire safety in warehouses and logistics centers.

Advantages:

  • Economic Solution:
These systems provide fire detection and warning at a lower cost.
  • Easy Installation:
Installation processes of conventional systems are simple and fast.
  • Ease of maintenance and repair:
Maintenance and repair operations of detectors and buttons can be easily performed.
  • Comprehensive Use:
It is widely preferred in small and medium-sized enterprises.
  • Zone Based Review:
Each floor or zone is independently monitored and managed.
  • Flexible Design:
The number of zones and detector placement can be flexibly designed according to different needs.
  • Quick Warning:
In case of fire, detectors and buttons give instant warning.
  • Reliable Performance:
The overall structure of the system provides reliable fire detection and warning performance.
